Montreal police responded to the report of a shooting on August 5th at approximatley 1:30 a.m. on Truteau Avenue.

Police arrived to find Joas Jean-Baptiste, 31, deceased in his home. According to reports, around 20 shots were fired at the home.

Sgt. Aurélie Guindon says the force has taken over the investigation because of its possible links to organized crime, adding there have been no arrests.
