The 2025 BC Homicide Victim List is available here
On Tuesday, December 9, Nanaimo RCMP revealed that Sherry Shelley, 65, had been reported missing on November 14, the same day officers found a woman’s body while attending a vehicle fire on College Drive.
Shelley’s death is being treated as a homicide, and the Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit says it is committed to securing justice for her family.
Investigators are asking residents in nearby neighbourhoods to check any surveillance or dash cam footage for Shelley’s white Volkswagen Tiguan with the licence plate WN701L.
They are specifically looking for video recorded between 11 p.m. on Nov. 13 and 3 a.m. on Nov. 14 along three possible routes:
- from the Doumont area to College Drive via the Parkway,
- from the Doumont area to College Drive using Jingle Pot Road, and
- from Harwood Road in Lantzville along Old Logging Road to Vipond Road.
Anyone who captures footage of a vehicle matching Shelley’s is urged to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and reference file number 2025-36216.
