La Ronge RCMP received a report of an unresponsive male at a residence on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band in the community of Kitsaki on November 25th at approximately 1:15 a.m.

On arrival, police located 31-year-old Wilfred Ballantyne from Pelican Narrows, Saskatchewan deceased at the scene.

As a result of the investigation RCMP Major Crimes, arrested 22-year-old Mary Bird from La Ronge and charged her with one count, second-degree murder.
