RCMP Major Crimes Unit and the Desmarais RCMP are investigating the homicide of a man found dead in a home on Bigstone Cree Nation on December 2nd.

A family member went to check on the victim after not being able to contact him. Police said the investigation has revealed that 47-year-old Marvin Brian Auger was shot to death in the morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 26.

RCMP said an evidence search was conducted on Bigstone Cree Nation that resulted in the seizure of several items that are still being examined by investigators.

Police believe there are individuals with information that could assist our investigation and are urging them to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact their local RCMP Detachment or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
