Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) responded to a report of an injured male at a residence located in Birdtail Sioux First Nation on January 23, 2024, at approximately 8:45 pm.

Police discovered the 40-year-old male, from Birdtail Sioux First Nation, who was pronounced deceased on scene.

RCMP arrested Michael Hanska, 29, and charged with Second Degree Murder on January 24, 2024.
