Calgary  police were called to a home in the 100 block of Pinehill Road N.E., for reports of a deceased person in the residence on October 30th at 8:50am.

Police said the deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Deborah Ann MITCHELL, and she was the victim of a homicide. The cause of death has not been released.

Mitchell’s son, 29-year-old Levi Romeo Mitchell has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to her death. He will next appear in court on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021.

According to CBC Levi Mitchell “has a long criminal history of violence and once used a sawed off shotgun to fire into a house with a woman and four children inside, according to parole documents.”

Update: On November 7th Levi Romeo Mitchell, 31, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on Tuesday, one week before his trial was set to begin.
