Update: Second youth charged in the 2021 Regina murder of a 16-year-old girl

Regina police were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of Rae Street for a report of a weapons offence on November 1st.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a deceased 16-year-old girl. Police have not released the identity of the deceased, however CBC said the victim was identified by her mother as Kadee Burns .

No arrests have been made at this time.


On November 12th, Regina police arrested a 15 year-old Regina male, who will not be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:

  • Murder, Second Degree [CC 235(1)]; and
  • Fail to Comply [YCJA 137].

Update March 30th, 2022
On March 29, 2022, a second 16 years old male youth, was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder. The youth appears in Youth Court at 2:00 p.m. today (Wednesday), March 30, 2022.
