Kingston Police Patrol Division responded to the area of Leroy Grant Drive and MacDonnell Street on July 26th at approximately 8:15 p.m. concerning a report of an individual suffering from serious injuries, which were determined to have been caused by another individual.

Officers provided immediate assistance to the 33-year-old victim who was then transported to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries where they succumbed to their injuries.

34-year-old Kyle Pyke of Kingston was arrested and charged with second degree murder and breach of release conditions. 

Police are asking anyone who may have security/doorbell camera footage in the Leroy Grant Drive to Alfred Street and First Avenue to Concession Street area of the Kingscourt neighborhood or anyone with information regarding this incident to contact D/Cst Jamie Graham at 613-549-4660 ext. 6311.

Update: On August 15, 2024, at approximately 3:45 p.m. members of the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit arrested an individual outside a local business in relation to the homicide.
