Neguac RCMP Detachment responded to a call for assistance from a member of the public who had sustained a firearm-related injury on September 5th at approximately 1:47 p.m.

On arrival, police located 48-year-old Mark Mitchell deceased, and another man with injuries. The injured man was transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

According to CBC, Keith Maurice Martin, 47, was arrested in the Esgenoôpetitj area on Friday September 6th, and charged with second-degree murder.
