Jordan Conway, re-arrested for a manslaughter charge in connection with the 2022 death of Aden Hersi in Vancouver

Vancouver police initiated an investigation on August 14, 2022, after victim Aden Hersi, 69, was assaulted by a passenger he had driven to the area of Nanaimo Street and East 2nd Avenue.

Police said Hersi was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He died three months later, on November 22, 2022.

Following a two-year Vancouver Police investigation, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of manslaughter against accused Jordan Conway, who was arrested on September 6 by VPD officers. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 24.

Update: Conway was initially arrested in September 2024 during a Vancouver Police investigation but was released on bail. A Canada-wide warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued on October 7, 2025.

On December 16, after a thorough investigation by the VPD’s Homicide Unit, Conway was taken into custody by the Emergency Response Team.
