Kaij Brass charged with murder in relation to the death of his 13-month-old son Tanner Brass  in Prince Albert

Prince Albert Police Service responded to a complaint of a family dispute at a residence in the 200 Block of 23rd Street West, on February 10th at approximately 5:44am. Police said one person was transported to police cells.

Police were called back to the same home just before 11 a.m on February 10th on the report of a homicide of a child. On arrival police located a 13-month-old Tanner Brass deceased at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled for February 11th and police continue to investigate.

Kaij Brass, who is the father of the deceased, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court Friday morning. 

No other information will be released at this time, as the matter is before the courts.

Following an administrative review into the initial response to the residence at 5:44 a.m. Thursday morning, an investigation was ordered by Prince Albert Police Chief Jonathan Bergen under the S. 54.1 of the Police Act 1990. The Saskatchewan Public Complaints Commission has been notified and is investigating.
