Correctional Service of Canada spokesman Jeff Campbell says Adam Kent Monias, 25, died in hospital on August 18th.

Monias, along with two other inmates were hospitalized after an assault on August 16th. The other inmates are expected to survive.

Monias was serving time for second-degree murder for the January 2012 attack that killed 29-year-old Ian John Folster.
