Two men were shot at the Johnny G’s restaurant location on Main Street in Winnipeg after midnight Wednesday. They later died in hospital.
This is the fourth and fifth homicide in Winnipeg in 2019. In 2018 there were 22 homicide in Winnipeg versus 21 in 2017.
Update February 8th Winnipeg police have released the identity of the two victims in the February 6th homicide as Anthony Brian Cromastey, 30, and Rodney Albert Kirton, 25. Police have revealed that the deceased males died as a result of simultaneous gunshots to each other. Both handguns have been recovered.
Swan River RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a home on 5th Avenue South, on January 18th at approximately 11:40pm.
Police and paramedics arrived to find an unresponsive 39-year-old male, from Swan River. Despite life saving efforts, the victim was pronounced at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Police arrested Tyler Brass, 30, on January 20th. Brass has been charged with Second-Degree murder.
Winnipeg emergency personnel responded to the 400 block of Victor Street for the report of an injured male, on December 25th at approximately 7:15am.
The victim, Tyler Evan Smoke, 26, was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police have not released the cause of death at this time.
Police are asking for help from the public to determining Tyler’s whereabouts prior to his homicide. Anyone who had recent contact with Tyler, and anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508.
Winnipeg Police responded to a check the well being call in the 600 block of McGee Street on December 18th at approximately 2:40pm.
On arrival police located an unconscious male who was rushed to hospital. The victim who has been identified as Ricardo Junior Hibi, 34, succumbed to his injuries at hospital.
The name of the victim and cause of death has no been released at this time. Police said the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Update A Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of Kane Ashley Antonio Moar has been issued for Second Degree Murder of Ricardo Junior Hibi. Moar is described as Indigenous male in appearance, approximately 6’0” in height and weighing 190 lbs with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

Teulon RCMP responded to a report of a 20-year-old woman shot in a vehicle, on November 17th at approximately 11:40pm in the area of Provincial Road 231 in the RM of Armstrong.
Police said investigation has lead them to believe that an altercation had broken out at a bar in Fraserwood earlier that evening. A man who had been at the bar left and parked approximately 2 miles away from Fraserwood on Kuz Road. Three cars belonging to patrons from the bar passed the suspect and opened fire.
A 20-year-old woman who was in another vehicle was struck and died of her injuries in hospital.
Jesse Paluk, 23, is charged with Second Degree Murder, Attempt Murder x 7, Discharge Firearm at Motor Vehicle with Intent to Wound x 3, Reckless Discharge of Firearm x 3, and Assault with a Weapon.
Selkirk RCMP responded to report of a 64-year-old male in cardiac arrest at a residence on November 16th at approximately 9:15pm.
Police and paramedics arrived to find the victim deceased. The identity and cause of death have not been released at this time.
RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying any suspicious activities, or persons hitchhiking in the Selkirk areas of Jemima Bay, Main Street, old Henderson Highway, and Highway 9 south to Lockport between 6:00 am on November 16 and 6:00 am November 17, 2018.
