Edmonton police were called to a weapons-related incident near 160A Avenue and 83 Street on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, around 8:41 p.m.
On arrival, they discovered a 22-year-old man who had died under suspicious circumstances. They also found a 53-year-old woman suffering from severe, life-threatening injuries; she received medical attention from EMS and was taken to hospital.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested, and the EPS Homicide Section is now leading the investigation. Police believe the suspect, the injured woman, and the deceased man were all acquainted with one another. An autopsy has not yet been scheduled.
The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy on Dec. 1, 2025, and determined that Jeremy Poon, 22, died of multiple stab wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
Edmonton police charged Wesley Poon, 25, with second degree murder, attempted murder and arson endangering life.
