RCMP said in a press release on August 16th that 59-year-old First Nations woman Mary Ann Ollie who died on August 1st was the victim of a homicide. The cause of death has not been released.

The RCMP is working closely with the Yukon Coroner’s Service on this investigation.

Update September 18th
Phillip Atkinson, 63, was arrested on September 16th, and has been charged with first-degree murder in relation to the death of Mary Ann Ollie.
