Police responded to the report of an injured woman in the 200 block of Seventh Avenue NW in Swift Current on March 4th at approximately 11:30pm.

Police located an injured woman who then told them there was another female victim inside an apartment on the 600 block of Chaplin Street. The second victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigations led police to arrest 34-year-old Roxanne Poundmaker, at a residence on the 500 block of Colonel Otter Drive in Swift Current. Poundmaker was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Chasity Poundmaker and for the attempted murder of Lucinda Poundmaker. Police have not revealed the relationship between the victim and the accused.
