The 2024 Nova Scotia Homicide Victim List is available here

Cape Breton police responded to a disturbance outside one of the units, of an apartment building on MacAulay’s Lane on July 23rd at approximately 4:30 p.m.

On arrival police located a deceased person inside. The victim’s identity has not been released. Police spokesperson Desiree Magnus said the deceased is believed to be a victim of an assault.

Leonard Anthony Tenass, 34, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Police said the victim and accused were known to each other.
