The 2021 Calgary Homicide Victim List is available here

Calgary police responded to the report of shots fired in the 5200 block of Memorial Drive S.E. on March 27th at approximately 10:00pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a man in his 30’s on the street in medical distress. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Update March 30th
Following the autopsy conducted by The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as Jesse Shaye Troy George, 30, of Calgary. Staff Sergeant Martin Schiavetta of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit said “People may have unknowingly witnessed something or may even have dashcam footage that could be useful to investigators.”

On Monday, March 29, 2021, John TABLER, 41, of Calgary, was charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Anyone who has information about this incident, including individuals who were traveling near Memorial Drive and 52 Street S.E., on Saturday, March 27, 2021, between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m., and has information or dashcam footage, is asked to contact police by calling the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234. 

Update April 30
On April 28, 2021, officers contained a residence located in the 5200 block of Memorial Drive S.E. Using resources from multiple units, including Patrol, the Tactical Team, and Fugitive Apprehension Team and arrested Martin Wallace YUEN, 51, of Calgary. Yuen has been charged with one count of manslaughter and will next appear in court on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
