The 2025 Calgary Homicide Victim List is available here

On the morning of Saturday, July 19, 2025, Calgary Police responded to a report of a deceased male inside a residence in the 600 block of 10 Street S.W. Officers arrived at approximately 7:45 a.m. and confirmed the presence of a deceased individual.

Following a post-mortem examination conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Monday, July 21, the death has been officially ruled a homicide. The victim has been identified as William Harvey-Chenel, 30, of Calgary.

Police believe this was a targeted incident and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit continues to investigate. Officers are actively gathering evidence, reviewing surveillance footage, and interviewing witnesses.
