Burlington Ontario 2026 Homicide Victim List
On February 9, 2026, at around 10:10 p.m., police responded to reports of a man who had been shot in the parking lot of the mall located at 777 Guelph Line. The victim was rushed to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have identified the victim as Omer Niaz Muhammad, 24, also known as a rapper as lil OT, of Burlington.

Investigators say two suspects fled the scene in a white SUV. No arrests have been made at this time. Police believe the shooting was a targeted incident and have stated there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have dash cam or security footage from Guelph Line, Prospect Street, or Fairview Street around the time of the incident to come forward.
According to The Hamilton Spectator, Muhammad’s family home in Hamilton had previously been the target of a drive-by shooting in November 2023. Police reported finding at least 52 bullet holes in the residence, though no injuries were reported.
In December, Ahmed Issak-Hussan admitted guilt in connection with the shooting and is currently in custody awaiting sentencing. Authorities arrested Issak-Hussan after he was allegedly overheard confessing during a phone call while he was under investigation in the killing of Sheydon Storer. Issak-Hussan and another man have both been charged with first-degree murder in that case, which is still before the courts.
Update: Investigators with the HRPS Major Crime Bureau are requesting the public’s assistance to identify a dark coloured compact SUV which was observed in close proximity of the shooting. Video of the vehicle can be found HERE
Police say the white SUV seen in the video is the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident. Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) confirmed the SUV was found a short time after the homicide in Hamilton, where it had been abandoned and deliberately set on fire.
Investigators are also working to determine the role of a dark-coloured compact SUV. Anyone who can identify that vehicle or its occupants is urged to contact the Major Crime Bureau at 905-825-4776.
