Police were called to the 16000 block of Gatzke Road shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 25, 2025.

When officers arrived, they found 43-year-old Joseph Robert McCook deceased. Investigators believe foul play may have been involved, prompting the Major Crime Unit to take over the case.

RCMP have released a photo of McCook as part of the investigation and are asking the public for help in piecing together the events leading up to his death.
