Cross Lake RCMP responded to a report of a deceased female inside a home on SawMill Road in Pimicikamak Cree Nation.

On arrival police located a 45-year-old female deceased. Her identity and cause of death have not been released.

An adult male was arrested at the scene.

RCMP said the death is being investigated as a homicide. The RCMP Major Crime Services unit and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section have been engaged and are in the community.

Update: On March 26th, Shawn McKay, 23, of Pimicikamak Cree Nation was charged with Second Degree Murder.
