Saint John NB Police Investigate the City’s 6th homicide of 2025

Saint John Police responded to multiple reports of gunfire on St. James Street on November 11, 2025, at approximately 11:07 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old man unconscious and critically injured in the 182-block of St. James Street. Emergency crews provided aid, and the man was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains active, and police currently believe the shooting was an isolated incident. No arrests have been made.

Members of the Saint John Police Forensic Identification Services and the Major Crime Unit, working with the Coroner’s Office, are continuing to examine the case. Investigators are asking residents in the area to review their security footage for any potential evidence.
