Windsor Police are requesting video surveillance footage – Daniel Nathaniel Assing Charged with First-Degree Murder After Woman Found Dead in Suspected Case of Intimate Partner Violence

Windsor Police observed a vehicle being driven dangerously in the area of Chatham Street East and Goyeau Street at approximately 3 a.m. on November 12, 2025. Police stopped the motorist and arrested him for stunt driving.

Investigators said that during the arrest, officers noticed the suspect had a large amount of dried blood on his face and body. Further investigation led officers to a residence in the 1100 block of Langlois Avenue, where they found a woman showing no vital signs.

The 26-year-old woman was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The suspect, 29-year-old Daniel Nathaniel Assing, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and is currently in custody.

This is the fourth homicide in Windsor so far this year.

Investigators are requesting video surveillance footage from residents and businesses in the highlighted area between Erie Street and Giles Boulevard, with a particular appeal to anyone whose property faces the alley of Palermo Lane.

We are asking the public to review any footage captured between 10 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, and 4 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, and to check for a 2010 blue two-door Hyundai believed to be linked to the incident.
