La Ronge RCMP responded to reports of a serious assault in front of a residence on Charles Street in Grandmother’s Bay on November 2nd.

On arrival police located two injured people. 18-year-old Melissa Charles was pronounced at the scene, and a male victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

26-year-old Keyland McLeod, from Grandmother’s Bay, has been charged with one count, assault with a weapon, one count, second-degree murder, and one count, uttering threats against a person.
