Woman Charged with Second-Degree Murder In The Death Of Tonio Cantell, After Triple Shooting Near Turtleford, Saskatchewan

Turtleford RCMP responded to reports of three injured men at a rural property northwest of Turtleford, Saskatchewan on November 5, 2025, around 12:30 p.m.

Officers and EMS attempted lifesaving measures, but all three men were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 25-year-old woman from Thunderchild First Nation was arrested the same day and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 28-year-old Tonio Cantell from Island Lake First Nation. She is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on November 7, 2025.

The other victims include a 46-year-old man from Turtleford and a third man who has not yet been identified. RCMP confirmed all three men died from gunshot wounds and that multiple firearms were seized from the property.

The investigation continues with assistance from RCMP forensic and investigative units and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. Investigators do not believe there are additional victims or suspects.
