The Ottawa Police announced on October 27th that they are investigating a shooting that took place on Somerset Street West on October 15, following the death of the victim in hospital.

Thirty-eight-year-old Nelson Getson died from his gunshot wounds on October 24.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

This marks the seventeenth homicide in Ottawa so far this year.
