The 2025 Ontario Homicide Victim List is available here

On April 4, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call around 3 p.m. at a home on Lalonde Street in Clarence-Rockland.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased person, who was subsequently transported to the hospital where their death was confirmed. OPP identified the victim as 29-year-old Dharmeshkumar Vallabhabhai Kathireeya.

Following the investigation, it was determined that the death was a homicide.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, 83-year-old Gilles Martel from Clarence-Rockland was arrested and charged with second-degree murder under Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code. Martel is now facing legal proceedings in connection with the incident.
