Chatham-Kent, police responded to a medical emergency at a home on Elgin Street in Wallaceburg on October 28, 2023, at 1:44 a.m.

On arrival, the 64-year-old Wallaceburg man was found deceased with apparent injury. His name and cause of death has not been released.

On October 29, 2023, a 68-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He is currently being held pending a bail hearing.

Police said the victim and accused are known to one another and at no time was there a concern for public safety.
