Guelph police announced that an unresponsive 51-year-old man was located within his apartment unit in the area of Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue on Tuesday, November 5th. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following a thorough investigation, which included a post-mortem examination, the death was ruled a homicide. Police said it is believed the victim died on or about October 21.
A 25-year-old man of no fixed address, who was already in custody on unrelated matters, has been charged with second-degree murder. He will appear in bail court Friday November 8th. There is no ongoing threat to public safety.
