Wabasca RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a home on Bigstone Cree Nation.

RCMP arrived to find a 75-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. Police attempted life-saving measures; however, EMS pronounced him deceased.

RCMP arrested a 20-year-old female at the scene and charged her with second-degree murder. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was deployed and took carriage of the investigation.
