Quebec City police said they responded to a home on Geneviève-Lamarre St. on October 26th, just after midnight after obtaining information was from a 16-year-old drunk driving suspect.
On arrival, police located 19-year-old Daphnée Jolivet deceased and a 16-year-old male teen who was critically injured in a residence in Quebec City’s Limoilou district. The male victim was taken to the hospital where he remains on October 26th.
According to reports, the 16-year-old drunk driver was arrested for impaired driving and vehicle theft.
Update A 17-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder and armed sexual assault in relation to the homicide of Daphnée Jolivet, and attempted murder and aggravated assault against the boy.
The victims and accused were seemingly unknown to each other.
According to reports, the Crown said on November 14th they will seek an adult sentence if the youth is convicted. Police said he was 16 when the crimes occurred.
