York Region Police said in a press release that Kevin Bonada Rosas was last seen at his residence on Elmwood Avenue on June 21, 2018. He was reported missing by family on June 26, 2018. Efforts to find him were unsuccessful, and his disappearance was deemed suspicious. The Homicide Unit assumed control of the investigation in April 2021.

Police announced on October 24th 2023 that on June 5, 2023, human remains were found buried in the yard of his home on Elmwood Avenue. Forensic examination confirmed them to be the remains of Kevin BONADA ROSAS. The death is being classified as a homicide. The cause of death has not been released.

On November 15, 2023, Anoshirvan SHIRIZADEH, a 37-year-old male from Richmond Hill, was charged with Second Degree Murder.
