Peel police responded to a wellbeing of a female at a residential building in the area of Darcel Avenue and Etude Drive in Mississauga on February 1st at approximately 9:00pm.
On arrival police located a 14-year-old girl from Mississauga, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the stairwell. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified as Taffash Riley.
The Homicide And Missing Persons Bureau have taken over the case.

Update February 11th
Peel Police have announced that a Canada wide arrest warrant has been issued for 19-year-old Michael Moncherry-Desir, for the offence of Manslaughter. Investigators said Michael Moncherry-Desir should be considered armed and dangerous, if seen contact police at 905-453-2121 extension 3205. Anonymous information may also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Update, Peel police said Moncherry-Desir was taken into custody Friday evening. He is scheduled to appear in court Saturday.
