On October 30, at around 9:30 p.m., Inuvik RCMP were called to a business on Industrial Road after receiving a report that someone had been killed.

Police said a 38-year-old woman was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A 47-year-old man was taken into custody. Police believe that the suspect and victim were known to each other.

Update: As a result of this investigation, Kenneth Campbell of Inuvik was charged with one count of second-degree murder. Investigators believe this is a case of intimate partner violence and are classifying it as a femicide.
