Winnipeg, Manitoba 2026 Homicide Victim List

Winnipeg police are investigating a homicide after a burned vehicle led to the discovery of a man’s body earlier this month.

On March 13, 2026, shortly after 1:50 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Jarvis Avenue, where they located a vehicle believed to have been intentionally set on fire. Inside, they discovered the remains of a deceased man, later identified as 57-year-old Vincent Morrissette.

The case was taken over by the Homicide Unit, and investigators soon uncovered evidence that a physical confrontation had taken place between two men in the 200 block of Salter Street prior to the fire.

Two days later, on March 15, police arrested a suspect in the same Salter Street area. The following day, 32-year-old Fabian Gerald Michelle was formally charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
