Charges laid – Winnipeg police investigate the homicide of Austin Mark Chief

Winnipeg police responded to the report of an injured man at an apartment block in the 600 block of Broadway Avenue on June 12th at approximately 5:00am.

Police and paramedics located the victim, 24-year-old Austin Chief in serious condition. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

The Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate and seeks the public’s assistance. Anyone who may have information regarding this homicide or have video surveillance within this area is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).

Update:
On August 2nd, Winnipeg police Identified a suspect and attended the Manitoba Youth Centre where they arrested Denzel Seth WOOD, 19, of Winnipeg, and charged him with Second Degree Murder.
