Winnipeg police responded to the 300 block of Kennedy Street on June 10th just after midnight on the report of a shooting.

Police arrived to find Marlon Jose Chamorro-Gonzales, 48, of Winnipeg, lying outside and suffering from serious injuries. Chamorro-Gonzales was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.

Update June 12th
Michael Theodore Jay EDWARDS, 27, of Winnipeg, has been arrested, and charged with:
– Second Degree Murder
– Possess Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
– Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order.

The accused was detained in custody.
