Winnipeg Homicide #11 – Lise Danais, dies after violent assault in her home

Winnipeg police resonded to a 911 call on March 26th at approximately 10:45am, in the first 100 block of Rockcliffe Rd.

police spokesman Const. Rob Carver said they arrived to find a woman suffering from severe injuries and in critical condition,. The woman was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries. No other information is available at this time.

Winnipeg did not record their 11th homicide in 2018 until July.

Update, March 29th
The victim has been identified as Lise Danais, a 51-year-old female of Winnipeg.

August 1st
Winnipeg police have charged a youth with first-degree murder in the death of Lise Danais.

Update January 8th
Independent Investigators believe that the wrong person has been arrested for the murder of Lise Danais. They have issued an award of up to $10,000 in cash for anyone who is able to provide new information that leads to the arrest of the true killer.
