Vancouver police responded to Oppenheimer Park where a man had been assaulted near the basketball court on New Year’s Day at approximately 1:00pm.

Police arrived to find Jesus Cristobal-Esteban, 62, unconscious. Police said Cristobal-Esteban suffered a serious head injury in an altercation The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on January 2nd.

Update March 5th
Glen Domenic Martin, 50, of Vancouver, was arrested on Thursday, March 4th in Vancouver and charged with manslaughter.
