Surrey RCMP received a report of an assault in progress in the 7500 block of 120th Street in Surrey on January 2nd at approximately 12:50am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Jason Stanley Wells, 39, deceased. A second man was found nearby and taken into police custody. 33-year-old Michael James Petronio was charged on Thursday and remains in custody.
