Vancouver, British Columbia 2023 Homicide Victim List is available here

Vancouver police responded to a single-room occupancy hotel near East Hastings and Carrall on January 17th at approximately 7:00am.

On arrival police located a deceased person who has not been identified. The cause of death has not been released, however, police said the death was a homicide.

There is no ongoing risk to the public. Information will be updated as it becomes available.

Update February 17th
Vancouver police have identified the victim as Thunder Dennis, 20. The file remains under investigation.

Update: On January 20th 2025, Jorge Marquez Medina, 67, was arrested and has been charged with second-degree murder. He remains in custody.
