Listuguj Police Department responded to the report of a shooting at a home on 94 Riverside West 11:30 am on May 15th. Police arrive at the scene and heard gunshots.

 The 28-year-old active shooter barricaded inside 94 Riverside West. At 5:20 p.m., the Sûreté du Québec police officers obtained the peaceful surrender of the suspect. 

Police entered the home to find a male and a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to hospital where they died of their injuries.

The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government will not be providing any further details and will not be accepting media requests out of respect for the families.
