Two men posing as police, charged with the death of 78-year-old Usha Singh in Vancouver’s second homicide of the year

Vancouver police said the attack occurred just after 6:00 a.m. on January 31st when two men posing as police knocked at the front door of a 78-year-old woman who lives near Queen Elizabeth Park.

Police responded to a wellness check the morning of January 31st where they located 78-year-old Usha Singh was found alive but severely injured inside her home. Singh was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries on February 2nd.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested two men in East Vancouver. Pascal Bouthilette, 41, was arrested near Strathcona Park with help from a VPD police dog. Bouthilette is now charged with murder in connection with the case. The second suspect Sandy Parisian, 47, was arrested on February 2nd in the evening near Main Street and Terminal Avenue. Parisian is charged with manslaughter.
