Maskwacis RCMP were dispatched to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the Montana First Nation on July 24th at approximately 6:10pm.

Investigators said two suspects entered a residence and assaulted the victim, Mason Skylar Currie, 20, and a 56-year-old man. Currie died of his injuries and the other victim was taken to a local hospital by EMS, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Maskwacis RCMP, with assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, and RCMP Emergency Response Team, located and arrested Cole Gerald Cattleman, 25, and Chaz Joseph Cattleman, 22. Both of them were charged with one count each of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
