The 2025 Toronto Homicide Victim List is available here
On the evening of Tuesday, June 3, 2025, a violent shooting in North York left one man dead and five others injured. The incident took place around 8:37 p.m. near the intersection of Ranee Avenue and Varna Drive.
According to police, three suspects approached a group of people before pulling out firearms and opening fire. The suspects quickly fled the scene.
In total, six people were shot:
- A 31-year-old man was critically injured and later died in hospital.
- Five others—a 19-year-old man, a 25-year-old man, an 18-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old youth—suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
This marks Toronto’s 13th homicide of the year.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin. According to CP24 “Coun. Mike Colle later told CP24 that the victim was paralyzed in a 2018 shooting.”
All three suspects are described as males with slim to average builds. They were wearing dark clothing and face coverings, and each was armed.
Police continue to investigate and are urging anyone with information to come forward
