Toronto’s 18th Homicide of 2026: 22-Year-Old Abdihamiim Aden Fatally Shot in Jane and Sheppard Area

A 22-year-old Toronto man has been identified as the victim in the city’s 18th homicide of 2026 following a late-night shooting in the Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue area.

Toronto police were called to reports of gunfire at approximately 11:07 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026. When officers and emergency crews arrived, they found three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics provided emergency life-saving treatment at the scene before transporting two of the victims to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The third victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the deceased as Abdihamiim Aden, 22, of Toronto.

Investigators say three male suspects were seen fleeing the area shortly after the shooting. All three are described as being thin, dressed entirely in black clothing, and wearing face coverings.

The homicide marks Toronto’s 18th homicide of 2026.
