Toronto Homicide #6 – Abdulrahman Patel fatally shot in a Scarborough parking lot

Toronto police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Gateforth Drive, near Markham Road at approximately 10:30pm on February 6th.

Police located a man in the rear parking lot at 5790 Sheppard Avenue East, suffering from serious gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A gun was recovered at the scene.

Shortly after locating the deceased, police received a call at approximately 10:40pm that a man in his 30’s had walked into the emergency room of a hospital in the east end, also suffering from gunshot wounds. Police described his injuries as serious and he was subsequently rushed to a trauma hospital.

Police are uncertain if the two shootings are connected. Information will be added as it becomes available.

The victim has been identified as Abdulrahman Patel, 21, of Toronto.
