Ryan Michael Nehiley shot to death in his Halifax home

Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call on Clovis Avenue in the community of Spryfield, N.S., on November 23rd at approximately 9:00pm.

Police arrived to find 25-year-old Ryan Michael Nehiley, suffering from life threatening injuries. Nehiley was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made at this time, and police do not believe the shooting was random.

Darren Clyde Reid found dead in a Halifax home. 68 year old man charged with the death.

Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an injured man inside a residence in the 0-100 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth on April 16th at approximately 8:49pm.

Police located Darren Clyde Reid 52, of Dartmouth suffering from serious injuries. EMP pronounced Reid deceased at the scene.

Joseph Noel Landry 68, of Dartmouth was arrested at the scene without incident and held in police custody. On April 18th Landry was charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of Darren Reid.

63 year-old Deborah Irene Yorke found dead in Halifax

Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a suspicious death at 3 Farthington Place, Dartmouth, on January 21st at approximately 4:08 pm.

Police arrived to find 3-year-old Deborah Irene Yorke of Dartmouth, dead at the scene. An autopsy was completed on January 22, and determined the manner of death to be a homicide.

Update January 28th
Brandon Jake Hollohan, 23,  was arrested on January 25th, and has been charged with second-degree murder. Hollohan is scheduled to appear in court on January 29th.

Update three men charged – Police rule the death of Derek Miles a homicide

Emergency crews responded to an apartment in the 0-100 block of Pinecrest Drive around 4:25p on January 19th on report of a man in medical distress.

Derek Miles, 42, of Dartmouth was found dead at the scene. An autopsy performed on January 20th determined the cause of death to be a homicide.

The death of Derek Miles is the first Halifax homicide of 2018.

Update March 19th
Police have arrested and charged three men in relation to the homicide of Derek Miles. Gregory Maxwell Purvis, 52, George Andrew Purvis, 30, and Murray Robert Timmons, 26, have all been charged with second degree murder.

Halifax police investigating after a 70 year old man dies in Clarmar Care Ltd.

Halifax police were called to Clarmar Care Ltd. on November 22nd at 8:45 pm on report of an assault. It was reported that a 64 year old man got into an altercation with a 70 year old man.

The 70 year old man then had a medical episode, and passed away at 9:22 pm.  The suspect was taken into custody for questioning, however no charges have been formally laid.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: Halifax police investigating a sudden death in Clayton Park

Halifax police were called to 36 Montgomery Crescent in Clayton Park on September 17th at 1:38am on report of an injured man.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a 20 year old man in serious condition. The man was rushed to hospital where he died a short time later.

A 27 year old man and a 24 year old woman were taken in for questioning but have since been released.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Update September 29th
The Halifax Medical Examiner has confirmed that Sardar Ajmeer Nawabi death was a homicide. The cause of death has not been released, and no charges have been laid at this time.

Josiah Kaelin Sparks found dead in Lake Loon home

RCMP said 22 year old Josiah Kaelin Sparks was found dead in a home on Cherry Brook Rd in Lake Loon on September 15th at approximately 8pm.

Police have not released any information surrounding the death, only saying that it has been ruled a homicide.

Update: Three charged in the death of Nadia Gonzales

On June 16th at around 7:45 pm Halifax Regional Police, including the Patrol, K-9, Emergency Response and Quick Response Units, responded to report of an assault in progress.

Police arrived at the home, located at the 0-100 block of Hastings Drive in Dartmouth‎ to find an injured male with life threatening injuries, he was rushed to hospital and is expected to survive. Police also located an unresponsive woman at the scene. Nadia Gonzales 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Calvin Maynard Sparks 23, has been charged with one count of first degree murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation. Samanda Rose Ritch 19, has been charged with first degree murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of recognizance.

Update August 30th

Police arrested Wayne Andrew Bruce, 60, on August 29th  2017 at a Dartmouth home. Bruce is facing a first degree murder charge in the death of Nadia Gonzales

Charge laid in the suspicious death of Chelsie Probert deemed a homicide

Halifax police responded to report of a female in medical distress, on a path near Albro Lake Road, on June 6th at around 10pm.  Police found 18 year old Chelsie Prober in serious condition.

Prober was taken to hospital where she later died. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

A team of volunteers are helping Halifax Regional Police search for evidence.

Halifax police have announced that a youth male who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act has been charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of Chelsie Prober.

Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer shot to death in Halifax

Halifax police responded to report of a shooting in the area of Falkland and Gottingen streets on November 21 at around 10:45pm.

Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer, 22, was found with life threatening injuries, in the drivers seat of an SUV. Keizerwas rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

There have been no arrests at this time.

The death of Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer is the 12th Halifax homicide this year.
