Surrey, British Columbia 2026 Homicide Victim List

Officers from the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit were called to the 9800 block of Foxglove Drive to assist emergency crews, including BC Emergency Health Services and Surrey Fire Service, after reports of an unresponsive injured man on March 21st at approximately 11:15am.

When first responders arrived, they found the man receiving medical care for significant injuries. Despite extensive life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Zachery Rider.

Authorities say the case is still in its early stages, but initial indications suggest this was an isolated incident. A suspect has already been taken into custody.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken over the case and is working alongside RCMP investigators to move the investigation forward as a priority.
